Our Farm’s Founding Principles

We have four guiding principles at Latitude 43 Berry Farms that inform our farming practices. These are the reasons why our blueberries are so fresh!

  1. We farm biologically. This means we only use nature and natural processes to grow and harvest our fruit. We focus heavily on cultivating living soil to ensure that it is bustling with organic matter. There are no synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, or genetically modified organisms involved in growing our blueberries.

  2. We prioritize the land because we want to preserve and improve it for years to come. We feel a deep connection to nature and believe we must steward the land for our family, friends, and future generations. This is one of the reasons we are so passionate about biological farming.

  3. Everything we do centers around quality. We live in a world where quality is often surpassed by convenience and ease, but don’t the best things in life involve hard work, patience, and some struggle? We think so. Not only did we painstakingly plant each bush by hand, but we also hand-pick our weeds throughout the year to ensure each plant gets a fair chance to thrive. Each berry is individually picked by hand at its peak ripeness. We cherish quality and intention because they make a difference.

  4. Community is at the heart and soul of our farm. Our farm plays a role in improving our community’s health and its connection to nature. Not only do we connect people to real food, but we also create opportunities to allow people to visit the farm and reconnect with the beauty of nature. It’s a wonderful cycle because our farm was built by community. Without our family and friends, we wouldn’t be here today.

These four principles are why you can confidently know that blueberries from Latitude 43 Berry Farms are as fresh as they get. Our berries are grown in the best quality conditions, picked at peak ripeness, and delivered to our customers within days of being picked. As a result, when you buy our berries, you get the freshest berries around.
